Shine is a 39.92-metre fully custom aluminium motor yacht built by Van der Valk Shipyard, defined by advanced engineering and a highly collaborative design process. Delivered in 2026, she is the largest yacht built by the shipyard to date. Formerly known as Project EVO, the yacht is the result of an intensive design and consultation process in which the owners were closely involved at every stage.
The exterior design is the rsult oconcept was originated from an exceptionally striking concept by Franco Gianni of SFG Yacht Design and Doga Naz Cebeci of Fancy by Dada. Building on this foundation, Cristiano Gatto Design further shaped the layout and interior, introducing furniture-led ideas and aesthetic themes that informed the evolution of the exterior character.
Together, Van der Valk shipyard, Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design completed the project team, allowing the owners to pursue a distinctive design direction without compromising performance, safety or buildability.
Diana Yacht Design was responsible for the structural engineering, with particular focus on the aft section. n this area, a transformer multifunctional swim platform, outboard rudders, an aft transom door and two drop-down balconies had to be integrated into one coherent architectural solution. At the same time, large main-deck windows and an open interior arrangement reduced the number of available structural support points. Consquently, engineering this complexity while preserving the clean profile and openness the design demanded was central to DIANA’s constribution on this project.
Powered by twin MTU 16V2000 engines, Shine reaches a top speed of 24 knots and cruises at around 19 knots. Furthermore, she accommodates ten guests across five cabins, including a main-deck master suite, two VIP cabins and two twin guest suites, with crew accommodation for eight.
Motoryacht Shine joins projects such as MY Lalabe and MY Maravi each reflecting a distinct approach to design, engineering and owner customisation within the 30 to 40-metre segment.
