LALABE wins triple awards at 2026 Superyacht Design Festival
We’re thrilled to annouce that LALABE has won three awards at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards 2026 in Kitzbuhel, Austria; Best Naval Architecture- Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts, Outstanding Exterior Design – Motor Yachts, 24m to 39.9m, and Best Interior Design – Motor Yachts, 24m to 39.9m.
This recognition across three core disciplines reflects the strenght of the collaboration between the owner, Van der Valk Shipyard, Guido de Groot Design, Ginton Naval Architects and our team at Diana Yacht Design.
For the 35-meter yacht, we handled the structural engineering, a complex challenge given the voluminous superstructure, extensive glass surfaces, and an upper saloon that opens fully on three sides. Our focus was on creating a robust yet lightweight aluminium structure while minimizing the number of parts to ensure construction efficiency.
Working alongside Ginton Naval Architects, who designed the underwater body, we delivered engineering solutions that supported the yacht’s ambitious architecture without compromising performance or aesthetics.
LALABE was one of three yachts we have worked on as naval architects that were selected as finalists at this year’s awards, a testament to our commitment to technical excellence and collaborative design.
The Best Naval Architecture awards particularly acknowledges what happens beneath the surface: the calculations, structural integrity, and engineering precision that make exceptional yacht design possible.
Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing LALABE to this level. At Diana Yacht Design, we believe great yachts are built on strong partnerships and meticulous engineering.
